Comments about Il Boschetto Zuppa Lenticchie & Orzo Soup Mix:
I agree with Stars. All dry goods should be sorted out for pebbles--I found none, but Stars found several, the hard way. Just a good rule of thumb. As for taste, it's bland to the point of insipid--so, add a bay leaf or two, some chopped garlic, and half a handful of whole black peppercorns. If you have it, a good pinch of the worthy Omnivore Salt that's making the rounds would be perfect. Heeding Stars' warning, I did so beforehand, and it made a splendid zuppa. The addition of a ham shank, if you're inclined that way, would make it better yet.

Comments about Il Boschetto Zuppa Lenticchie & Orzo Soup Mix:
This product presents as a nice blend of ingredients. Colorful, distinct textures with a promise of being a palate pleaser.
Printed directions are a bit difficult to decipher due to the multiple languages used.
Easy to prepare..but
although the mix is seasoned and calls for no extra seasoning the finished product was bland. No flavor bland. I prefer no salt/ low salt items and I realize that can affect taste..but this really needed some zip to it. Plan on adding herbs, spices of your preference.
With all dried legumes an initial prep step should be to sort for "foreign" objects. One would not expect to have to do this with a mix. Please do so with this product. Several small pebbles apparently snuck by and added an unnecessary crunch to my meal.
I liked this mix, would use it again, but would take the extra steps as mentioned above to ensure a more uniform presentation and satisfaction
