Growing up around the family’s lobster restaurant in Ogunquit, Maine, Cal Hancock learned the importance of supporting local lobstermen and why Maine lobsters are the best tasting lobsters in the world. Most importantly, she learned how to give customers that “Maine” experience; serve delicious lobsters and provide the best customer service.
With that knowledge and experience, along with her love for cooking, Cal created Hancock Gourmet Lobster Co.in 2000. Her mission was to make that Maine experience accessible to people everywhere by shipping ready-to-serve lobster and seafood specialties – without the fuss.
Today, Cal continues to work out of her test kitchen in Cundy’s Harbor, the oldest commercial lobstering village in Maine, where she’s able to stay connected with local lobstermen and the eco-friendliest lobster industry in the world. The award-winning company’s manufacturing facility provides jobs for people in the community who still craft the food by hand just as the Hancock family did years ago.
