Membrillo is a sweet, and very thick conserve made from the fruit of the quince tree, unlike the conserves produced in the U.S. the Membrillo is solid enough to hold its shape. The quince fruit is a close relative of the apple and the pear and it is native only to Europe and parts of Asia. Best eaten at room temperature and paired with cheeses and/or crackers.
