Mugolio Pine Syrup

Italy
One of the things we love most about our business is discovering unique foods that are unknown to most of the rest of the world. We are absolutely delighted to find this delicate Mugolio, pine cone bud syrup, from Italy's Dolomite Mountain region. There, Eleonoro Cunacia harvests the best buds of the Mugo Pines in May, puts them in glass pots where they are exposed to the Italian sunshine until late autumn. Then he filters the liquid that forms, adds sugar, and cooks over a slow fire until golden in color and absolutely delicious. Try it drizzled over ricotta, yogurt, gelato or panna cotta. Or with sauted apples and marscapone. Exquisite!

      Comments about Mugolio Pine Syrup:

This is almost floral-not pine at all. Not too sweet, but very tasteful. Good on toasted sourdough English muffins with Brie.

      Comments about Mugolio Pine Syrup:

This exquisite product is a 'gift from the ancients of Italy.' I use it primarily with yogurt; and just a few drops will add unbelieveable flavor!

      Comments about Mugolio Pine Syrup:

I added this to Belgium waffles a while back and - wow. The pine really does come through. If you're looking to break out of ordinary breakfast syrup and wanting something new - Mugolio will leave you "pining for more"
