I found a recipe for Sweet Potato Pie that I wanted to try. Only problem was that it called for DARK brown Muscovado sugar which I was unable to find locally. Therefore, you should plan well in advance if your recipe calls for this sugar as it will probably have to be ordered on line.

I discovered muscovado sugar several years ago, and I won't ever go back to using the yucky, highly-processed, and essentially fake brown sugar offered in standard grocery stores. Muscovado sugar (and I only use the dark sugar) has a depth of flavor and a high level of moistness that is unequaled. I use it exclusively in my chocolate chip cookies, and any other dish that calls for brown sugar.
